B Corp 2.0 Is Coming: What you actually need to know

Quick Read 2min

No more cherry picking. No more chasing points.

B Corp is getting a major overhaul. From 2026, every certified business will need to meet minimum requirements across all impact areas, not just the ones you are strongest in.

If you are certified already (or planning to be), here is what is changing, what it means for you, and how to prepare without drowning in spreadsheets.

โ€

TL;DR (Because we get it)

  • B Corp is levelling up
  • Minimum standards across 7 impact areas
  • Old system retires June 2025
  • New standards launch 2026

๐Ÿ‘‰ We have built tools to make the transition easier, smarter, and even enjoyable.

โ€

What Is B Corp 2.0?

The current B Corp system lets businesses score points in their strongest areas. That ends in 2026.

From then on, you will need to meet minimum requirements across all 7 areas:

  1. Purpose & Stakeholder Engagement
  2. Fair Work
  3. JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion)
  4. Human Rights
  5. Climate Action
  6. Environmental Stewardship
  7. Government Affairs & Collective Action

๐Ÿ‘‰ No more gaming the system. Just real impact, everywhere it counts.

Timeline Check

  • December 2025 โ†’ last chance to certify under the current system
  • 2026 โ†’ new B Corp standards go live
  • Already certified? You will roll over into the new requirements at your next review

โš ๏ธ Heads up: if you are in a controversial industry (fossil fuels, tobacco, prisons) and more than 1% of revenue comes from that, you may not be eligible.
